The Place

The name "Mørkhøj" relates to the ancient burial mound that is located on high ground on the north side of our estate. You will find photos in the various parts of this web site. To the south, our land i next to Store Frederikslund Manor.
This gives us limited possibility to expand from our 10 acress - and to enlarge our stable. However, the terrain also gives us an extraordinary excellent view in many directions. To the west we can - when the weather allows - see as far as Kalundborg (40 kilometers away).

We live at the end of a remote, private road, half a mile in length. "Winter and snow is seldom in Denmark", one of us claimed, when we moved in. The winter just gone by has proven her wrong... :-)
