In the autumn of 2007, we began the long stretched reflection and research process, that finally lead us to become stallion owners.
During the entire winter we did a detailed desk top analysis - and then travelled to Ireland for on site study in the early Spring of 2008.
We met many helpful irish connemara lovers and formed a network of people with whom we have tried to stay in contact ever since. We looked at many excellent stallions, but we were very selective, and most of the stallions were not for sale.
During our last trip to Ireland, at the stallion inspections 2008, Glencarrig Fionn surfaced as THE stallion we had been looking for. We bougth him from an anonomously life at a place in Mid Ireland.
In spite of his very good results in Clifden as a young stallion he had been living here completely out of sigth - until we found him. You can be lucky.
Glencarrig Fionn arrived to Sorø in the very end of May 2008. Due to a strike at the Channel Ferries, he was 10 days on the way, and he arrived in slim line version.
Glencarrig Fionn was born May 7th, 2001. He is grey.
Results from Clifden, Ireland:
- no.2 in the Class for 1 year old colts (2002)
- no.2 in the Class for 2 year old colts (2003)
Glencarrig Fionn was inspected to be a Class1 stallion in Ireland.
The first season Fionn was in Denmark, he covered three mares and subsequently had three daugthers. Of these, two are now Class 1.
Fionn is out of a stallion line that is well known for their jumping skills.
